Nature Engagement

In every walk with Nature one receives far more than he seeks.
— John Muir

Humans belong in the natural world. We possess an innate desire, even a need, to interact with other living things. This innate need to connect with other forms of life is termed “biophilia.”

Spending time in nature is incredibly important for our psychological and physical well-being. Research has demonstrated that spending time in nature helps us cope with and recover from stress, leads to higher self-esteem and a more positive outlook, and results in overall better life satisfaction. Connection with nature helps us live more physically and psychologically healthy lives. This module will demonstrate the fundamental importance of connecting with our natural world and outline habits and exercises to make connecting with nature a daily reality.
