Self-Compassion

You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.
— the Buddha

Self-compassion is extending to yourself the same kindness and care that you would offer to a good friend. Especially during challenging times, our "inner critic" can be pretty harsh and judgmental about perceived shortcomings. This module will help you learn to tame that inner critic and find peace in understanding how challenges can increase our sense of connection with others.

WHAT IS SELF-COMPASSION? Simply stated, it's the willingness to be as kind to yourself as you would be to a good friend in need. It's noticing when your inner critic is working overtime, and replacing self-criticism with kindness. It's bringing a mindful awareness to thoughts, emotions, and experiences, so you can find greater happiness and self-acceptance.
